Weissenburg Dev is the trade name used by Gabriele Nickl, an individual entrepreneur established in France. Privacy contact: nickl@weissenburgdev.com .

Weissenburg Dev (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Qibla mobile application (the “App”) and this website handle information. Qibla helps users find the direction of the Kaaba (Qibla) using on‑device sensors and location.

1. About the App

Qibla determines the Qibla direction using your device’s compass and location.

  • Works offline; computations happen on your device
  • No account or sign‑in required
  • We do not sync or back up your compass or location data to our servers
  • Ads are displayed using Google AdMob, in accordance with local consent requirements

Core behaviors: compute Qibla direction from your current position and magnetic heading; no developer analytics beyond advertising SDK requirements; no developer access to your precise location, compass readings, or identifiers.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 On‑device data (for App functionality)

To find the Qibla direction, the App uses:

  • Location (approximate or precise, depending on your permission choice) to compute the bearing to the Kaaba
  • Device sensors (e.g., magnetometer/accelerometer/gyroscope) to determine heading

This information is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to Weissenburg Dev.

2.2 Automatically collected data (Advertising)

The App integrates Google AdMob to display advertisements. When ads are requested or shown, Google (not Weissenburg Dev) may automatically process: identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID, IP address), device/app/network info (device model, OS version, language, app version, network details), approximate location (e.g., derived from IP), and ad interactions & diagnostics (ad requests, views, clicks, error and performance data).

Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display ads in the App.

  • Types of data processed by AdMob: device identifiers, approximate location, ad interactions and performance/diagnostic data, and device/app/network metadata
  • Purposes: deliver and measure ads, limit frequency, prevent fraud/abuse, and—where allowed by your choices—serve personalized ads
  • Choices: select non‑personalized ads in supported regions and opt out of ad personalization via device settings
  • Transfers: Google may process ad data outside your country under appropriate safeguards

How AdMob Data Is Used

  • To deliver and measure ads in the App
  • To respect your choices for personalized or non‑personalized ads
  • To comply with applicable consent requirements

Google Play Data Safety Summary

Qibla processes location and sensor data locally on your device. Advertising data is handled by Google AdMob.

  • App functionality data (location, sensor readings) is processed locally on your device
  • AdMob may process device identifiers, approximate location, and ad interactions for advertising and measurement
  • Data sent to AdMob is encrypted in transit
  • You can opt out of ads personalization via the in‑App consent (where available) and device settings

We do not transmit your compass or location data to our servers.

For more details, see the Data Safety section on our Google Play listing.

3. How We Use Information

  • App functionality: compute Qibla direction on‑device
  • Customer support: respond to inquiries you send to us (if you contact us)
  • Advertising: display personalized or non‑personalized ads depending on your choices and local legal requirements

We never use your on‑device location/sensor data for advertising, analytics, or profiling.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR/UK GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we process personal data under the following lawful bases:

  • Consent – where required for advertising-related storage or access and for personalized advertising.
  • Legitimate interests – for App security, diagnostics, fraud prevention, and other processing where this basis is permitted by law.

Advertising delivery and measurement may rely on consent or another lawful basis depending on your region and the specific processing performed by Google.

5. Your Choices and Consent

In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, the App presents a consent dialog on first launch so you can choose between personalized and non‑personalized ads. You can change your choice at any time in App settings (if available) or your device’s ad settings.

Where required by local law, we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) or an equivalent framework to obtain and record consent.

  • Ad Personalization: enable or disable personalized ads via the in‑App consent prompt or device settings
  • Device Controls: on Android, you can reset the Advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization
  • Third‑party sharing: when you open links or use third‑party apps, their privacy policies apply

Use Google’s My Ad Center to review or adjust ad settings: https://myadcenter.google.com

6. Data Sharing

Weissenburg Dev does not receive, transmit, or share your on‑device location/sensor data.

Advertising data related to AdMob may be shared with Google and its advertising partners to serve and measure ads in line with your choices.

7. Security

On‑device processing; no developer servers hold your compass or location data.

  • Encryption in transit for ad traffic (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Use a secure device lock or biometrics
  • Keep your operating system up to date
  • Calibrate the compass when prompted for best accuracy

Data exchanged with AdMob is encrypted in transit. We recommend keeping your device updated and secured.

8. International Data Transfers

Advertising‑related data may be processed by Google on servers outside your country (including the U.S.). Where required, Google relies on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

9. Data Retention

On‑device App data is processed transiently for Qibla calculations and retained only on your device; delete it by revoking location permission or uninstalling the App.

AdMob retains advertising‑related data according to Google’s policies.

10. Children’s Privacy

Qibla is intended for general audiences and is not directed to users under 18.

We do not knowingly permit interest‑based advertising to children. If you believe a child has interacted with personalized ads, adjust device settings and contact us.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., EEA/UK GDPR, California CPRA, Colorado/Connecticut/Virginia and other U.S. state laws, Brazil LGPD), you may have rights to access, delete, correct, restrict/opt out of certain processing, portability, and to opt out of targeted advertising.

For ad data processed by Google, use My Ad Center and Google’s privacy tools. For any requests you send us, we will assist and, where appropriate, direct you to Google to exercise rights related to advertising data.

12. Managing Preferences and Requests

  • In‑App Consent (EEA/UK/CH): choose personalized or non‑personalized ads via the consent dialog (reopen via Privacy choices, if available)
  • Android settings: reset the Advertising ID and toggle ad personalization
  • Google tools: manage ad preferences at My Ad Center

To exercise rights related to AdMob data, use Google’s privacy tools or ads settings.

13. “Do Not Sell or Share” (California)

We do not sell your personal information for money. Showing ads via Google may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under California law due to cross‑context behavioral advertising. To opt out of personalization, use Android ad settings and My Ad Center. If you are in the EEA/UK/CH, use the consent prompt.
